A diversified global manufacturer with $8B+ in annual revenue and 25,000+ employees across five operating segments is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to join its Corporate Controllership organization — reporting directly to the Director of Financial Reporting & Consolidations.
This is a high-visibility leadership role for a technically strong CPA who enjoys owning the SEC filing process, advising on complex accounting matters, and driving financial reporting transformation in a sophisticated, well-resourced public company environment.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K — ensuring accuracy and adherence to tight reporting deadlines
- Manage the preparation, review, filing, and audit of Form 11-K and U.S. Pension Plan financial statements
- Monitor evolving SEC reporting and disclosure requirements and perform benchmarking analyses to enhance reporting quality
- Partner with Investor Relations on quarterly earnings materials including earnings decks and investor supplements
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting matters including share-based compensation, EPS, debt, hedge accounting, and other technical topics
- Research accounting guidance and prepare technical accounting memos and policy documentation
- Oversee implementation of new accounting standards, SEC reporting requirements, and related training
- Maintain and update the company's accounting policy manual
- Manage and provide guidance to an offshore Lease Center of Excellence team
- Partner closely with external auditors throughout the annual audit and reporting cycle
- Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and financial reporting transformation initiatives
- Review XBRL exhibits and support ad hoc reporting and accounting projects
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two direct reports — supporting performance management and career development
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Active CPA required
- 6+ years of progressive financial reporting and accounting experience
- Experience in both public accounting and public company industry environments preferred
- Strong technical accounting and SEC reporting knowledge including complex areas such as EPS, share-based compensation, debt, and hedge accounting
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Workiva and/or OneStream experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills with ability to learn and leverage new financial systems and technology
