Job summary

Primordial Labs is seeking a Senior Accountant to build and scale the accounting function as we grow across the Department of War and commercial markets. You will own the month-end close, reconciliations, labor distributions, and accounting operations, reporting directly to the Controller.

This hands-on role involves close collaboration in a fully remote environment, handling banking, AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, and internal controls to ensure audit readiness and accurate financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in public accounting, industry, or both.
• Hands-on experience with a financial close.
• Experience supporting a financial statement audit.

Responsibilities

• Execute the month-end close, preparing journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules under U.S. GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items for Controller review.
• Run monthly DCAA-compliant labor distributions, ensuring correct time charges to contracts, indirect accounts, and unallowable costs.
• Serve as a power user of our accounting (QuickBooks) and time-keeping (Rippling) systems, and support GovCon ERP implementation.
