Job summary

BenchPrep is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing finance team. Remote position reporting to the Controller, with responsibilities spanning reconciliations, journal entries, AR/AP, and billing.

You will analyze expenses, ensure GAAP compliance and revenue recognition, and assist in financial statements and budgeting. The ideal candidate has 3–8 years of accounting or auditing experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years in accounting or auditing for Staff Accountant; 5–8 for Senior Accountant; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate costs to departments; report to departments as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly journal entries and accruals.
• Assist in building financial statements and budgets; support year-end tax schedules.
• Identify process improvements to accounting procedures.
