Position Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare financial statements for 20-25 veterinary practices, support financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and assist with the monthly close process. This role offers growth opportunities within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review monthly financial statements for veterinary practices, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
2. Perform bank reconciliations, address discrepancies promptly.
3. Manage prepaid schedules and track expenses for proper recognition.
4. Record accrued liabilities, ensuring expenses are captured in the correct period.
5. Identify and implement process improvements for financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
6. Reconcile accounts timely and proactively resolve discrepancies.
7. Assist in preparing financial reports for strategic decision-making.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, focusing on financial reporting and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct and Workday Financials is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis formulas.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
