Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for preparing financial statements for 20-25 veterinary practices, supporting financial operations, ensuring compliance with standards, and assisting with the monthly close process. This role offers growth opportunities within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for veterinary practices, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly.
• Manage prepaid schedules and track expenses for proper recognition.
• Record accrued liabilities and ensure expenses are in the correct period.
• Collaborate on process improvements for financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts timely and address discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for strategic decisions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, especially in financial reporting and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct, Workday Financials, and Excel.
• Effective communication skills and team collaboration abilities.
