Riverhead Building Supply Corp in New York is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of key accounting functions, perform general ledger analyses, bank reconciliations, and prepare financial statements.

This role, within a growing company of 800+ professionals serving Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, offers a salary range of $80,000–$100,000 per year, with actual compensation commensurate with experience and compliant with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP/CSD systems and QuickBooks is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account analysis and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Take ownership of monthly workpapers and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare commission calculations and related reports.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the accounting team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
• Apply strong analytical skills and close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively establish checks and balances to identify discrepancies and maintain the integrity of financial information.
