Clutch is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the month-end close and drive a fast, audit-ready process for a growing fintech team. You will partner with the Accounting Manager to build documentation and controls, and scale close cycles across a distributed group.

Ideal candidates bring strong GAAP expertise, hands-on ledger ownership, and experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel/Sheets, plus a passion for building scalable financial processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license (or active progress toward obtaining CPA) preferred.
• 3–6 years progressive accounting experience including 2+ years in a full-month end close.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and close process ownership.
• Experience with venture-backed startups desirable.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close from start to finish and ensure audit readiness.
• Reconcile balance sheets and post journal entries with timeliness and accuracy.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Document close processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead at least one full close cycle end-to-end within 3–6 months.
