Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to lead corporate accounting, investment operations, and cash management. The role blends structured accounting with varied operational tasks in a lean, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience, a bachelor's in accounting or related field, and proficiency with accounting software and Excel. Hybrid work with remote flexibility is available.

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, reconciliations, cash management, and financial recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Support cash management, transaction processing, investment activity, and reconcilations.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close for the management company and related entities.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, including invoice coding and vendor payments.
• Coordinate with external administrators, financial institutions, auditors, tax advisors, and other providers.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings, and financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, systems, and documentation for effective controls.
• Manage confidential bookkeeping activities including expense tracking and bill payments.
• Coordinate private tax preparation and other financial matters with external advisors.
• Maintain confidentiality of corporate, investment, and private financial information.
• Support systems implementations, process improvements, and special projects as needed.

Job Description

This broad, hands-on role will include corporate accounting, investment operations, cash management, and confidential bookkeeping support for private financial matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet, and comfortable balancing structured accounting responsibilities with varied operational requests in a lean, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Support cash management, transaction processing, investment activity, account reconciliations, and other financial operations
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities for the management company and related entities
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice coding, vendor payments, and record maintenance
• Coordinate with external administrators, financial institutions, auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits, tax filings, and financial reporting requirements
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, systems, and documentation supporting an effective control and compliance environment
• Manage confidential bookkeeping activities, including expense tracking, account reconciliations, bill payments, and financial recordkeeping
• Coordinate private tax preparation and other financial matters with external professional advisors
• Maintain the appropriate separation and confidentiality of corporate, investment, and private financial information
• Support systems implementations, process improvements, administrative activities, and special projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA preferred
• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience, preferably within investment management, private wealth, or a similar environment
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, reconciliations, cash management, and financial recordkeeping
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, with the ability to manage both corporate and private financial information
• Exceptional organization, communication, attention to detail, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential matters

• Licensure and certifications;
• Office location and other geographic considerations;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
