Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to lead external reporting, technical accounting, and financial compliance initiatives in a highly visible leadership role. This position partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. The role requires a CPA and 8+ years in accounting, with SEC reporting experience and strong U.S.

GAAP knowledge. Excellent communication and deadline management are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Location: Hybrid in San Diego (4 days/week onsite)

Compensation: $150,000 - $195,000 + 30% bonus

A public real estate company is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to lead external reporting, technical accounting, and financial compliance initiatives. This is a highly visible leadership role partnering closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• CPA required
• 8+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience
• Experience with SEC reporting and public company environments

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Public accounting foundation
• Experience with technical accounting and complex transactions
• Leadership experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals
• Exposure to SOX programs and external audit coordination
