Howard Hughes Communities is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee property accounting and monthly/quarterly reporting for a diverse portfolio. You will apply GAAP to asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and allocations, while maintaining strong financial controls.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for property accounting and preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports by compiling information, preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. This position will also be responsible for applying General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to reviewing and approving capital asset additions, disposals, adjustments, depreciation, and allocations.
Lead month-end close activities for a property portfolio, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and variance analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Review and approve accounts payable and assess accounts receivable for collectability. Review and approve lease abstracts, analyze new leases and amendments, and prepare tenant operating expense recovery calculations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, while supporting lender reporting requirements and contributing to special projects as needed.
