Job summary

Mexcor seeks an Accountant in Houston to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance across multiple entities. This role supports month-end close, prepares reconciliations, maintains schedules for prepaid expenses and fixed assets, and assists with audits.

Reporting to the Controller, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to budgeting, and help produce monthly reporting packages for leadership and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and ASC 842.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP bank reconciliation modules (Encompass, NetSuite).
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting audits and preparing work papers.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close: Prepare reconciliations across multiple entities and close entries.
• Financial Reporting: Compile monthly reporting packages for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
• Audit & Compliance: Support bank and annual audits and prepare multi-state compliance reports.
• Collaboration: Work with departments to gather data and explain financial results; assist budgeting.
