Job summary

ATEX Distributing, LLC in Orlando is seeking a Senior Accountant to own inventory accounting, COGS, and the month-end close. This role partners with Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, and senior leadership to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting.

You will work hands-on with NetSuite, improve processes, and mentor junior staff while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate cost reporting across multiple warehouse locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close.
• Direct experience with inventory accounting, COGS, and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of landed costs, freight allocations, inventory valuation and variances.
• Strong GAAP understanding, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and year-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare GL and balance sheet reconciliations; support GAAP reporting.
• Improve close timelines, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
• Reconcile inventory subledgers to GL across multiple warehouse locations.
• Analyze COGS, inventory valuation, freight, and landed costs.
• Investigate variances and costing discrepancies; collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse.
• Utilize NetSuite ERP and reporting tools for operations and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes; maintain SOPs and internal controls.
• Serve as a resource; mentor junior staff; take on increasing responsibilities.
