Job summary

QXO, a leading distributor and installer in the building products industry, seeks a Lead Accountant in Florida to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will analyze P&L flux, support inventory costing with operations, and ensure GAAP compliance across multiple entities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in GAAP, research, and reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; multi-entity environments strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Strong research and reconciliation skills.
• Experience in Manufacturing/Distribution/Construction is a plus.
• Experience using ADP, BisTrack, Great Plains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries for moderate to high-risk accounts.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet and subledger reconciliations.
• Perform financial analysis and P&L flux reviews on key accounts.
• Partner with operations and purchasing to support accurate inventory costing.
• Provide analysis on material, labor, and overhead variances to leaders.
• Support audits and compliance requirements.
• Partner with management to resolve accounting issues and align internal processes.
• Review transactions for compliance with GAAP and internal policy.
• Ad hoc as assigned.
