Job summary

Alliance Resource Group is partnering with a fast-growing beauty and personal care company to identify a Senior Accountant with strong experience in inventory, COGS and multi-channel operations.

You will report closely to the Controller and own core inventory accounting, while providing analysis of gross margin and operational performance to help the business scale.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with inventory accounting and COGS.
• Experience supporting or owning month-end close.
• Strong balance-sheet reconciliation skills.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and investigate discrepancies.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience.
• Comfortable working in a fast-growing, evolving environment.
• Background in physical-product businesses is a plus (Beauty/CPG/retail).

Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of inventory and COGS accounting.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and roll-forwards.
• Support month-end close, journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze COGS, gross margin and inventory-related variances.
• Investigate discrepancies across inventory systems, warehouses and fulfillment partners.
• Support inventory reserves, adjustments and obsolescence analysis.
• Partner with accounting, finance, operations and supply-chain teams.
• Help improve inventory controls, reporting and accounting processes.
• Analyze inventory and margin trends and identify potential issues.
• Support a multi-channel consumer-products business as it scales.

Alliance Resource Group is partnering exclusively with a fast-growing beauty and personal care company to identify a Senior Accountant with strong experience across inventory, COGS and the accounting complexities of a physical-product business. This is a hands-on role reporting closely to the Controller and offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of inventory accounting while also providing analysis around COGS, gross margin and operational performance. The company operates across multiple sales channels, creating an environment where inventory accuracy, strong reconciliations and the ability to understand what's driving margin are increasingly important as the business scales.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 4+ years of accounting experience

• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working within an ERP environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-growing environment where processes continue to evolve
• Preferred Background Experience within a physical-product business is strongly preferred, including: Beauty / Personal Care / Cosmetics Consumer Products / CPG Food & Beverage Apparel E-commerce Retail / Wholesale Consumer Electronics Other inventory-intensive businesses Experience with DTC, Amazon, wholesale/retail, 3PLs or other multi-channel environments would be particularly valuable.
