Job summary

Citizens Energy Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to plan, execute, and monitor accounting functions, maintain records, perform ICA testing, and prepare journal entries, schedules and financial reports. The role requires collaboration across Trusts and with external stakeholders, and involves staying current with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and tax rulings.

It also includes coaching staff and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with accounting focus or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Strong analytical ability and knowledge of financial analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with GAAP, regulatory accounting requirements (FERC, NARUC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct month-end close activities including preparing work papers, journal entries, schedules and financial reports.
• Perform ICA testing and internal control activities.
• Prepare tax filings and regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide financial analysis and research to management; recommend improvements.
• Train and coach peers and associates on accounting processes.
