Citizens Energy Group is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role provides hands-on experience in transactional and period-end accounting within a supportive, professional environment.

The internship emphasizes practical learning, mentorship, and professional development, with a hybrid schedule and in-person program events designed to enhance collaboration and growth throughout the summer.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Driven and detail oriented.
• Desire to learn in a dynamic accounting environment.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.
• Comfortable working with numbers and paying attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsabilidades

• Handle transactional accounting tasks for the utility, such as recording financial transactions, invoicing, updating accounts receivable, maintaining tax files, and ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Assist with accounting entries by preparing journal entries, analyzing data, and preparing documentation.
• Prepare periodic financial reports including balance sheets and income statements, adhering to legal and company guidelines.
• Support month-end closing procedures, run reports, perform reconciliations, and assist with internal control testing.
• Perform general accounting tasks and maintain financial and tax databases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
