Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern Rockies seeks a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department to handle general accounting, grant accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis supporting reporting, compliance, and audits. The role works closely with the Controller and finance team to ensure accurate ledger activity and GAAP adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with grant accounting and budgeting is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and analyzes transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Maintains ledger integrity and GAAP compliance for all general ledger activity.
• Assists with budgeting, financial reporting, and grant/contract accounting.
• Supports audits and prepares documentation for audits and monitoring visits.
• Creates and maintains financial dashboards in Sage Intacct for department leadership.
