Job summary

OXMAN in Manhattan is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join its Finance & Accounting team and report to the Controller. You will own the monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and AP workflows, while developing a deep understanding of the general ledger and NetSuite-based processes.

As you gain familiarity with the business, the role expands into financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting, multi-entity accounting, and audit readiness in a lean, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
• 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting at a Big Four or comparable firm.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with modern finance tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with ability to understand the broader business context.
• Able to operate in a lean, evolving organization with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop a strong understanding of the company’s general ledger, accounting processes, and underlying business activity.
• Prepare and maintain journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed asset schedules, and other key close-related analyses.
• Own and perform account reconciliations, including bank and cash reconciliations, and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
• Support and increasingly take ownership of accounts payable, vendor activity, payment processing, transaction coding, and related controls.
• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and ensure the completeness and integrity of general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers with NetSuite.
• Review account activity, investigate variances and unusual items, and elevate accounting matters as appropriate.
• Assist with monthly variance analysis and other financial reporting packages.
• Over time, gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and FP&A activities.
• Work with external accountants, tax advisers, and other financial partners as needed.
• Assist the Controller with preparing and presenting financial results to the CFO and Management.
• Gain exposure to multi-entity accounting and organizational development; support audit readiness and process improvements.
