Job summary

Somatus is seeking a Senior Accountant to own complex accounting areas, ensure accuracy of financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and drive continuous improvement across close, reporting and controls. You will partner with Finance, FP&A, Operations, HR/Payroll, and external auditors.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, support month-end close, perform variance analysis, and contribute to policy development and ERP enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3 - 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA certification strongly preferred
• Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and continuous improvement of close processes.
• Perform variance and flux analysis, investigate drivers of change, and clearly communicate explanations to management.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of internal controls to mitigate fraud risk and ensure SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with FP&A and Reporting teams on ERP enhancements, reporting optimization, and close efficiency initiatives.
