Job summary

QXO, a leading distributor and installer of building products, seeks a Lead Accountant to join the LBM Division Accounting team. You will maintain accuracy of financial records, prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support month-end close.

The role acts as a bridge between corporate and the LBM division and partners with operational accounting teams. Requirements include a Bachelor's in accounting, 5+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity preferred), GAAP knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; multi-entity environments strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research.
• Must be detail oriented, have strong analytical skills and be technically minded.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Strong research and reconciliation skills required.
• Relevant industry experience considered a plus: Manufacturing/Distribution/Construction.
• Team player, self-motivated and problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for multiple entities.
• Prepare complex journal entries including allocations, accruals, payroll, and intercompany entries.
• Reconcile prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and allocations.
• Communicate with various functional areas to ensure accurate accounting for benefits and expenses.
• Perform division A/P function ensuring invoices are processed and coded.
• Develop and improve internal policies to ensure integrity of results.
• Work cross-functionally to increase financial reporting accuracy.
• Ad hoc projects as required.
