Job summary

The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting department. The role performs complex reconciliations, interprets GASB requirements, and prepares month-end closings and year-end audits, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

The position provides high-level technical support to the City Treasurer's office and collaborates with city management, departments and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Five years of accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, or auditing experience.
• Equivalent education/experience considered for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex reconciliations and financial reporting tasks.
• Interpret GASB requirements for reporting and disclosures.
• Prepare month-end closings and year-end audits, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
• Provide high-level technical support and coordination for the City Treasurer's office.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field
