Job summary

DeWine Mechanical, a growing mechanical contractor in Columbus, NE, seeks a Senior Accountant to modernize financial processes and boost accuracy and billing velocity.

You will partner with the Controller, manage monthly closes, ensure GAAP compliance, and lead ERP transition efforts as the company scales across multi-entity projects.

We value ownership, problem solving, and collaboration with field staff and leadership as we expand in ethanol, biofuels, and industrial markets.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification strongly preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit principles.
• Experience with prevailing wage, job costing, or multi-entity accounting a plus.
• ERP transitions (Sage Intacct, Foundation, Viewpoint, Spectrum) valued.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close, GL accuracy, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review job costing, WIP schedules, and under/over billing analyses.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Improve billing timeliness and maintain prevailing wage compliance.
• Assist with 45Z tax credit requirements and wage adjustments.
• Conduct internal audits for GAAP compliance.
• Design and implement better accounting controls and automation.
• Collaborate with Controller, project managers, and auditors.
