Job Title: Senior Accountant - Capital Assets
Job Description

This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence from Monday to Wednesday and remote work on Thursday and Friday. The candidate will ensure compliance with global capital asset and lease accounting policies and support centralized services for lease accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with global capital asset and lease accounting policies for proper recording and valuation of capital assets.
  • Support global lease accounting policies and processes, including development and oversight of centralized or shared services.
  • Provide periodic management reporting and analysis over global fixed and leased assets, coordinating information from all global locations.
  • Administer all aspects of asset accounting and reporting from initial approval to disposal for North America entities.
  • Support project managers by analyzing project plans for capitalization and monitoring capitalized costs throughout project life.
  • Monitor, assess, and record asset impairment of capital assets, focusing on retail stores, and engage with Finance and Accounting leadership for proper accounting and disclosure.
  • Engage with landlords to resolve rent payment queries and sales reporting requests.
  • Execute and/or review month-end close activities, including journal entry, account reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Prepare deliverables to support financial reporting processes for internal and external purposes (SEC financial statements, board of director reporting, etc.).
  • Interface with compliance and auditors for Sarbanes-Oxley and audit-related matters, providing necessary documentation.
  • 3-5 years of operational accounting experience, particularly with GAAP.
  • Proficiency in journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of Fixed Assets and/or capital assets.
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Experience working within large organizations with multiple sites.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable occasionally working outside standard hours to collaborate with teams in different time zones.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Direct Lease Accounting Experience with ASC 842 and IFRS 16.
  • Experience with Prolease lease accounting software.
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.

This hybrid role requires in-office presence from Monday to Wednesday and remote work on Thursday and Friday. The work environment involves collaborating with financial planning and analysis teams, as well as business managers, to monitor project cost performance. Occasionally, work outside standard hours may be required to partner with international teams. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
