Senior Accountant/AR Specialist
Herndon, VA (remote to start with COVID)

Summary

We're seeking a Senior Accountant that will focus on Accounts Receivable, as we continue our journey of taking our business into the future.

What you'll be doing

• Generate monthly billings for projects, including creation of individual project checklists and interpreting contract orders and modifications for appropriate revenue recognition treatment. Setup and maintain projects, cost proposals and subcontractor accruals in Deltek Costpoint.
• Report to the Program Control managers on actual and budgeted financials for jobs, as well as cash flow forecasting.
• Reviewing transactions and coding including preparation and posting of journal entries, including accrual and revenue journal entries.
• Reconciling bank statements to general ledger on a monthly basis and prepare related journal entries.
• Performing detailed account reconciliations monthly and quarterly
• Monitoring and follows up on outstanding receivables to maximize cash flow.
• Perform monthly fluctuation analysis
• Assist with Schedule K submission, DCAA audits and other proposals and/or submissions as needed.
• Significantly supporting annual external audit process by preparing schedules and footnotes and working with others to ensure quality control on audit deliverables.
• Identify and propose enhancements and improvements to areas of responsibility and financial applications, including accounting for capital expenditures and fixed assets.
• Prepare well-supported accounting records to ensure timely month end close and successful audits
• Help produce robust consolidating and consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting requirements.
• Performing special projects as requested, including adoption of new ASU standards.
• Backup other accounting functions as necessary including AP, T&E reporting and disbursement, credit card reconciliations and others.
• Work independently while managing multiple tasks.
