Job summary

Business Network International is seeking a Sr. Accountant – General Ledger to own AP, banking review, accruals, debt and FX close for the Americas, leading a small team of Staff Accountants.

You will ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts, drive timely month-end close, and implement scalable controls to support growth. Collaboration with Finance leadership will optimize AP technology and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience reviewing accounts payable activities, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with banking, intercompany, fixed asset, and intangible accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using an ERP system such as NetSuite or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own and strengthen SOPs for Accounts Payable and related close activities.
• Partner with Finance leadership to implement and optimize AP technology solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design scalable vendor management processes.
• Establish scalable processes and workflows to support team growth and leadership readiness.
• Identify accounting issues, risks and reconciliation concerns and propose solutions.
• Oversee debt accounting, FX revaluations, interest entries and related reconciliations.
• Review asset schedules including fixed, intangible, depreciation, and debt issuance costs.
• Review monthly accruals across various accounts to ensure proper recognition.
• Review AP aging and subledger reconciliations; maintain ledger accuracy.
• Analyze aged AP items, debit balances, vendor refunds, and credit memos.
• Review payment runs and coordinate approvals through banking platforms.
• Review prepaid schedules and related reconciliations; monitor bank reconciliations.
• Oversee intercompany AP transactions and discrepancies for accurate reporting.
• Use AI-enabled tools to improve AP, reconciliation, close and reporting processes.
• Perform additional responsibilities to support our values and mission.
