Job summary

BNI Global in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Sr. Accountant – General Ledger to own AP and banking review for the Americas. You will oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, debt and FX close activities while guiding a small team of Staff Accountants.

You will strengthen SOPs, optimize AP technology, manage intercompany activity, and ensure accurate month-end close with scalable processes. Strong GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (NetSuite), and excellent Excel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience reviewing accounts payable activities, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with banking, intercompany, fixed asset, and intangible accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working within an ERP system such as NetSuite or similar accounting platform.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own and strengthen SOPs for Accounts Payable and related close activities.
• Partner with Finance leadership to implement AP technology solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design scalable vendor management processes.
• Establish scalable processes and workflows to support growth and leadership readiness.
• Identify accounting issues, risks and reconciliations ahead of close; escalate with solutions.
• Oversee debt accounting, FX revaluation, interest entries, and related reconciliations.
• Review fixed asset, intangible asset, depreciation, amortization and debt issuance costs.
• Review monthly accrual schedules across various accruals to ensure proper recognition.
• Review AP aging and subledger reconciliations; ensure balance sheet accuracy.
• Analyze aged AP items, debits, vendor refunds and credit memos.
• Review payment runs and coordinate approvals through banking platforms.
• Review prepaid schedules, amortization entries and related reconciliations.
• Review bank reconciliations including uncleared items and bank fees.
• Oversee intercompany AP transactions and reconciliations.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to improve AP, reconciliation, close and reporting.
• Perform additional responsibilities to support our values and mission.
