Job summary

Evolus, a performance beauty company, seeks a Senior Accountant to own month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses. You will drive process improvements, leverage automation and AI tools, and support SEC reporting while ensuring SOX controls and internal controls are robust.

You will collaborate across departments, document workflows, and partner with auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive professional accounting experience, including 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Experience and knowledge of US GAAP.
• Understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance concepts.
• Able to think critically and articulate issues to management.
• Strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for key balance sheet and income statement accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Own assigned processes and maintain clear documentation of workflows, judgments, controls, and dependencies.
• Implement process improvements to increase accuracy, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort in the close process.
• Use automation and AI-enabled tools to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes with proper review.
• Prepare and support certain SEC reporting requirements, including disclosures related to areas of account ownership.
• Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, including SOX control support.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with established principles.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather information and maintain cross-functional relationships.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, control evidence, and user guidance for new workflows.
