Job summary

Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Accountant who blends accounting rigor with fluency in AI. This role isn’t a head-down, spreadsheet-only job; you’ll own significant portions of the close and reporting cycle and push for AI-enabled improvements, thinking in processes as well as transactions.

In a fast-paced, remote US environment, you’ll work with NetSuite, FloQast, and AI tools to streamline month‑end, drive accurate reporting, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Hands-on use of AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT/Copilot) in accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with lookups and pivots.
• Experience with NetSuite report building and GL management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close accurately and on time.
• Prepare and post journal entries and other recurring entries.
• Support revenue recognition and deferred revenue reconciliations (ASC 606).
• Prepare schedules for software capitalization, leases, and debt.
• Prepare reconciliations in FloQast with clear documentation.
• Leverage AI to improve documentation and controls.
• Support internal controls design and audit readiness.
• Assist with external audits and audit schedules.
