Job summary

In Tandem is hiring a Senior Accountant, AI & Automation to own and redesign critical close processes, build scalable finance workflows, and apply AI tools to reduce manual work. You will partner with FP&A, HR, Payroll, and Sales Ops while ensuring strong controls and auditability across multiple entities.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, US GAAP knowledge, and hands-on experience with Oracle/NetSuite and Avalara. A Bachelor's in Accounting is required; CPA or Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an accounting role with reconciliations and close experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA/Master's in Accounting or Finance a plus.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and sales tax compliance.
• Experience building or implementing automation with measurable impact.
• Experience with AI, automation, and data to solve accounting problems.
• Hands-on use of Oracle/NetSuite and Avalara; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own significant parts of monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Own an automation roadmap and measure time savings.
• Build maintainable automations and train teammates.
• Manage sales tax and VAT compliance with Avalara.
• Support revenue recognition and payroll-related entries.
• Maintain fixed assets and lease accounting; consolidate for subsidiaries.
• Prepare audit schedules and support audits.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with FP&A, HR, Payroll, and Sales Ops.
• Back up Accounts Payable and expense reimbursement reviews.
