Tysons, Virginia, United States — GRVTY is hiring a Senior Accountant to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring financial record accuracy and adherence to U.S. GAAP.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis, and partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations to improve processes. The role requires 3-5+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, and strong GAAP knowledge.

• CPA preferred but not required.
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience.
• Government contracting experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement schedules.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and improvements.
• Support audits with documentation and timely responses.
• Assist with accounting policy development and SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations.
• Assist with system enhancements and process simplification.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Position Title: Senior Accountant

What Impact You'll Have:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the companys financial close processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls. This role will perform complex accounting activities, assist with analyses for management, and contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.

What You'll Be Owning:

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement schedules
• Analyze financial data and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Support internal and external audit requirements with clear documentation and timely responses
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new standards
• Contribute to development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
• Partner with crossfunctional teams including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations
• Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process simplification
• Participate in special projects as needed

What You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Clearable U.S. Citizenship Required
• 3-5 plus years of accounting experience, government contracting is a plus
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
• Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Experience in a mid to large corporate environment
• CPA certification preferred but not required
