Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Spokane-based general contractor and property developer to recruit a Senior Accountant for their Spokane, Washington location. This role supports accounting activities across construction and development projects, with broad responsibilities and direct partnership with the Controller and Project Managers.

The position is a direct-hire opportunity with a salary between $95K and $105K and offers growth as the accounting team and project portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least five years of hands-on accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience in construction/project accounting with exposure to job costing, budgets, contracts, change orders, or pay applications.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills to manage detailed accounting across multiple projects and entities.

Responsibilities

• Track job costs and project performance against budgets for commercial and residential construction and development projects.
• Manage accounts payable, including subcontractor and supplier pay applications, change orders, retainage, and project-related billing.
• Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities while maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Support multiple related business entities, including intercompany accounting, and collaborate with Project Managers and company leadership to provide accurate financial information.

The Senior Accountant can anticipate a highly visible role with broad responsibilities, direct partnership with the Controller and Project Managers, and the opportunity to grow as the company expands its accounting team and project portfolio.
