Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong cost accounting, project accounting and financial analysis experience for an onsite, direct-hire role. This position requires hands-on account management, detailed job costing and collaboration with operations to improve profitability.

You will own journal entries, cost allocations and project reporting while supporting audits and close processes across multiple projects. Onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with cost accounting and project accounting.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, or project-based environments preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
• Experience working within an ERP system.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities from project setup through closeout.
• Perform detailed job costing analysis and monitor project profitability.
• Track costs, labor, materials, and overhead allocations across multiple projects.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyze project variances and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Work closely with operations and project managers to monitor budgets and forecast project performance.
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting functions, including cost allocations and standard cost analysis.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
• Support internal and external audit requests.

This is a fully onsite opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in cost accounting, project accounting, job costing, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable partnering with operations to ensure accurate project financial reporting and profitability analysis.

Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 annually

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.
• Experience with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus.
• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
