Job Details

Compensation: Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The annual base pay range for this position is $80,000.00-$90,000.00

Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to enroll in the company’s 401k retirement savings plan.

Paid Time Off: Employees accrue 0.0654 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 136 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year.

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with the accounting and finance team, serving a key role in the overall operations of the Company and the various departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepares and approves journal entries and month-end close work papers in accordance with GAAP and company policies/procedures for areas including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other miscellaneous asset and liability accounts. Assists with preparing monthly financial statements, account details, and management reports. Assists with month-end closing processes. Prepares year-end audit schedules and supporting schedules as needed. Establishes and maintains proper control over the management of fixed asset accounting including asset additions, CIP and disposals, and preparation of fixed asset roll forward schedules - 50%
  2. Works alongside the team to assist with the various projects and tasks involved with M&A integration as the company continues a focus on growth through acquisitions - 15%
  3. Assists with the remittance of monthly parking taxes and online filing of both quarterly and annual gross receipt taxes. Assists with the renewal of valet permits and related business licenses - 15%
  4. Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts in the Blackline software. Researches and clears reconciling differences. Performs special projects for management as necessary - 10%
  5. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to maintain fiscal discipline and a favorable internal control environment. Serves as liaison to site managers and assists them with accounting related issues - 10%

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:

  • Active certified public accountant (CPA) preferred but not required

Work Experience:

  • (3) plus years of experience as an accountant

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment adhering to strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of GAAP and the ability to apply general accounting theory to day-to-day processes
  • Desire to take on responsibility that will create a path for growth and advancement.
  • Willingness to interact with other department heads and identify opportunities that may result in improved accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Strong experience with Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables), Word, Outlook and various accounting technology applications
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization
  • Ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures

SCOPE

Authority to Act: Job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Budget Responsibility: The employee has control over resources available only.
