Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong general accounting background including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement prep, U.S. GAAP, and accrual accounting.
• Experience with payroll and multi-state sales tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities with journal entries, accruals, and GL maintenance.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for bank, credit card, and other accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and schedules ensuring accuracy.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances and unusual transactions.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general accounting tasks.
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
• Manage sales tax compliance, review returns, and reconcile tax activity.
• Research and resolve sales tax notices and notices with taxing authorities.
• Prepare year-end schedules, audit support, and documentation for external firm.

This position will take ownership of key accounting functions, ensure accurate financial records, support compliance activities, and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage responsibilities independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and other key accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring financial information is complete and accurate.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and other general accounting activities as needed.
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll-related accounts and activity.
• Manage sales tax compliance, including reviewing returns, reconciling tax activity, and maintaining supporting documentation.
• Research and resolve sales tax notices, registration matters, and other issues with taxing authorities.
• Prepare year-end schedules, audit support, and documentation for external accounting firm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong general accounting background, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, U.S. GAAP, and accrual accounting.
• Experience with payroll and multi-state sales tax compliance, including reviewing returns and resolving tax issues.
