Job summary

Aggancio is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage daily finance operations in Midtown Manhattan. You will oversee AP/AR, G/L, billing, and cash flow while ensuring accurate financial reporting for external sources.

The role reports to the Controller and requires meticulous attention to detail and leadership in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include monthly closings, journal entries, accruals, inter-company transactions, and project cost allocations, with collaboration across departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• Experience in construction accounting preferred.
• 5–8 years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• High attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a diligent detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manger our daily finance operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial data.

Location and Reporting: This position is located Midtown, NYC. This position reports to the Controller

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, billing and cash flow
• Monitor accounting data to produce financial statements for external sources
• Collaborate with department managers to analyze weekly cash activity
• Assist in monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy in general ledger activity including adjusting journal entries, accruals, inter-company transactions, and job cost allocations

Compliance & Auditing:

• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, laws, and internal policies
• Analyze payroll liabilities to ensure compliance with unions, Federal and State agencies
• Provide documentation for annual audits and reviews
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Collaborate with project controls to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Assign projects and ensure accuracy and compliance
• Improve systems and initiate corrective actions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• Experience in construction accounting preferred
