Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing, project-based organization in the engineering and construction space. This hands-on role focuses on the general ledger while developing an understanding of the operational and financial drivers of the business.

The ideal candidate has 3–7+ years of accounting experience, hands-on Deltek Vantagepoint expertise, and exposure to external auditors. CPA is a plus but not required, with a competitive compensation package and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Approximately 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supporting external auditors and preparing schedules/documentation.
• Experience within engineering, construction, architecture, AEC, or another project-based organization strongly preferred.
• Hands-on Deltek Vantagepoint experience highly preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reporting
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records
• Provide support for annual financial statement audits and other external audit/review requirements
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and documentation requested by external auditors
• Work hands-on within Deltek Vantagepoint
• Support accounting activities within a project-based environment

This is a hands‑on accounting role for someone with a strong foundational accounting background who is comfortable working directly in the general ledger while also developing an understanding of the operational and financial drivers of the business.

The ideal candidate will bring experience within engineering, construction, architecture, or another project‑based environment, along with hands‑on experience using Deltek Vantagepoint. This individual will have exposure to senior finance leadership and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the organization continues to grow and evolve

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process

Compensation:

$80,000- $90,000
