Job summary

H&H is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Accounting team in New York City. This role covers all phases of the project life cycle, from setup with Project Managers to cost proposals and closeouts.

You will mentor new hires and contribute to professional growth in the department. Responsibilities include collaborating with PMs to set budgets, providing financial updates, and advising on invoicing and contract changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
• 3–6 years of project accounting or billing experience, preferably in engineering or architecture.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project financial metrics such as profit and multiplier.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to establish project budgets based on contract provisions.
• Provide updates on project financials in meetings and via reports.
• Advise on contract modifications and client invoicing requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to training within the department.
• Support year-end audits with schedules and documentation.
