Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• CPA certification or progress toward a CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
• Analyze account variances and investigate discrepancies.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and provide supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and support business objectives.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's accounting team in Zeeland, Michigan. This individual will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting overall business operations.
