Job summary

CFS in Holland, MI is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team. You’ll partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support financial reporting, inventory accounting, and cost-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing accounting, a solid understanding of inventory and standard costing, and a desire to grow in cost accounting. Onsite role with competitive salary and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Exposure to cost accounting, standard costing, or manufacturing variance analysis is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and provide actionable financial insights.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Desire to learn and develop deeper expertise in cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Assist with inventory accounting and inventory valuation processes
• Analyze manufacturing variances and identify key business drivers
• Support standard costing activities and annual cost roll processes
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to better understand manufacturing performance and cost trends
• Assist with product costing, margin analysis, and profitability reporting
• Review labor, material, scrap, and overhead variances
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating planning processes
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help drive efficiency initiatives
• Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
• Collaborate with leadership on special projects and ad hoc analysis
