Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Senior Accountant in Baltimore, MD to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. You will maintain accurate records, prepare statements, and help strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience preparing financial statements and journal entries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded
• Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger adjustments
• Reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
• Complete monthly reconciliations for asset and liability accounts
• Research and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Analyze financial results and explain significant budget-to-actual variances
• Analyze costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
• Develop and document accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and special accounting projects
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
