Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Clearwater, FL. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, preparing financial analyses, and partnering with business stakeholders to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure financial data accuracy
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and account variances
• Review balance sheet accounts and perform account reconciliations
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation and schedules
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Prepare financial statement schedules and management reporting packages
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Operations, and other business teams on accounting and reporting matters
• Support special projects, system implementations, and finance initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or CPA candidate
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar
• Experience supporting audits and internal control processes
• Experience in multi‑entity or corporate accounting environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
