Job summary

Kforce Inc. in Lanham, MD is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, general ledger accounting, project accounting, and day-to-day accounting operations.

This role ensures accurate financial reporting, manages the month-end close, maintains strong internal controls, and partners with project and operations teams to monitor financial performance and drive cost controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition.
• Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting.
• Prior supervisory or accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

• Review AP and AR activity and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, company policies, and internal controls
• Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors
• Assist with sales and use tax requirements
• Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, and controls

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
