Job summary

UNH Manchester seeks a Senior Academic Advisor to support student success, retention, and degree completion. You will provide proactive, relationship-based advising to a diverse undergraduate population, manage a caseload, and lead advising and registration initiatives.

You will collaborate with faculty, Admissions, and campus partners to deliver a coordinated, student-centered experience and mentor the advising team. The role includes orientation coordination and staff training.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to student-centered advising approach.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with Degree Works, Banner, and EAB Navigate.
  • Experience with transfer students and evaluating transfer credit.
  • Familiarity with academic support services including disability services, academic skill building, and working with students in academic difficulty.
  • Experience with new student orientation events.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the professional advisor for UNH Manchester students in specified programs and oversee undeclared advising initiatives.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress to promote success and respond to alerts.
  • Collaborate with admissions and departments to review transfer credit and degree requirements.
  • Participate in NACADA activities and pursue professional development.
  • Provide leadership in advising operations in the director's absence.
