Job summary

The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM seeks an Academic Advisor to deliver advisement to prospective, current, and returning students. You will work in a team to support enrollment, retention, and graduation goals, with training and mentorship from senior staff.

You will coordinate in-person and online advisement, respond to student inquiries, assess readiness, and guide program changes while developing academic plans and schedules; maintain records and support coordinated student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; no experience needed.
• Preferred: experience advising students and communicating transcripts in an academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and online academic advisement to prospective, current, and returning students.
• Answer student inquiries and assess academic level.
• Advise on academic programs and changes; help develop academic plans and class schedules.
• Assist in resolving individual academic problems; maintain student files and records.
• Collaborate with faculty on student challenges and process improvements for student success.
