Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field such as academic advising, counseling or student development.
  • Three years of experience working directly with students in academic advising.
  • Proven commitment to student-centered advising and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Programming and administrative responsibilities.
  • Supervise Sr. Administrative Assistant position.
  • Support Manchester's Pre-Health Post-Bacc program by collaborating with Admissions to host information sessions and make admission decisions.
  • Coordinate undeclared advising initiatives for Manchester students and develop major and career exploration events.
  • Oversee advising and registration periods and communicate with students and advisors.
  • Provide staffing recommendations for walk-in advising based on unregistered students.
  • Coordinate advising participation in recruiting and admissions events.
  • Lead orientation-related advising activities and pre-registration of new students.
  • In the absence of the director, provide leadership to the advising office and serve as Manchester representative on university forums.
  • Participate in NACADA activities and pursue certification in Appreciative Advising.
