Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks a Managing Director and Team Lead for Asset‑Based Lending (ABL) Underwriting to lead a national team and drive high‑quality credit decisions. You will oversee structuring, due diligence, and risk management in collaboration with Business Development, Relationship & Portfolio Management, and Legal partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in ABL underwriting.
• 2+ years leading underwriters or a formal team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Set team strategy and capacity plan; assign and review work, calibrate credit judgment, and coach underwriters to elevate structuring quality and speed to decision.
• Lead underwriting of new money, amendments, and renewals across revolvers, term loans, and seasonal lines; provide clear recommendations, terms, and risk‑mitigation actions.
• Underwrite ABL solutions for complex capital structures including sponsor-backed deals and uni‑tranche structures; evaluate governance and support.
• Oversee collateral diligence and borrowing‑base discipline; ensure eligibility, reserves, and appraisal inputs are appropriate.
• Interpret and operationalize credit policy, underwriting standards, and control frameworks specific to ABL; align with OCC guidance.
• Collaborate with Coverage/Originations to shape bankable structures and coordinate with Legal on definitive documentation.
• Use analytics to track cycle time and underwriting quality; lead process improvements and technology adoption.
