Job summary

Huntington Commercial Bank seeks a Managing Director and Team Lead for Asset-Based Lending Underwriting. You will lead a nationally based team delivering high‑quality credit recommendations, disciplined risk management, and timely execution aligned to policy and supervision.

You’ll partner with multiple groups to drive growth and portfolio performance. The role requires 10+ years in ABL underwriting, 2+ years of team leadership, and a Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in ABL underwriting.
• 2+ years leading underwriters or a formal team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Set team strategy and capacity plan; assign and review work, calibrate credit judgment, and coach underwriters to elevate structuring quality and speed to decision.
• Lead underwriting of new money, amendments, and renewals across revolvers, term loans (including FILO), and seasonal lines; provide clear recommendations, terms, and risk‑mitigation actions.
• Provide underwriting leadership perspective on risk trends, early warning indicators, and industry sector concerns; proactively recommend risk mitigation strategies and underwriting posture adjustments.
• Oversee quality of collateral diligence and field exams; ensure eligibility criteria, reserves, concentration limits, and appraisal inputs are set and reassessed.
• Collaborate with Coverage/Originations, Legal, Operations, and Collateral Ops to schedule exams and resolve findings aligned to OCC guidance.
