Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Atlanta, GA seeks an executive-level leader to manage an ABL Portfolio Manager team. You will drive retention, workouts, and risk strategies while guiding a group of up to 7 Portfolio Managers handling 13–14 accounts each.

The role requires deep ABL experience, top-tier communication, and the ability to influence pricing, covenants, and credit structures. Travel and leadership responsibilities are core to this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in finance, accounting or business. Advanced degree in business would be a plus.
• At least 20 years of experience in ABL, with extensive experience in liquidation, workouts, restructuring and client retention and contact.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of large syndicated transactions both as an Agent and as a participant.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate well to employees, clients and to others within the bank.
• Knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office suite and proprietary software products used in support of the business.
• Valid and current driver's license required for travel to meet with prospects and customers.

Responsibilities

• Advise, review, and assist Portfolio Managers in managing their clients.
• Develop/execute strategies for problem clients and ensure timely work.
• Set measurable goals for Portfolio Managers to ensure retention, minimize credit losses, and address client requests.
• Review risk write-ups, ratings, field exam responses, and watch assets for approval by senior leadership.
• Advise on pricing, covenants, waivers, amendments, forbearances and overall credit structure.
• Assist senior management with special requests and strategic initiatives.
• Mentor Portfolio Managers, develop talent, and maintain senior client relationships.
• Be the lead credit expert on accounts and understand legal ramifications of loan decisions.
