Job summary

Precision Garage Door Service seeks an experienced A/R Staff Accountant to own the full accounts receivable cycle for both commercial and residential sides across multiple branches. You will manage invoicing, cash posting, collections and AR reporting, balancing complex job-based billing with high-volume field transactions.

This role requires strong GAAP knowledge and collaboration with project managers and dispatch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on accounts receivable experience, full-cycle billing, cash application and collections.
• Experience with B2B and B2C receivables, ideally in home services, construction, trades or distribution.
• Knowledge of construction-style billing: progress billing, retainage, change orders, lien notices and waivers.
• GAAP understanding as it applies to A/R, revenue, deposits and bad debt reserves; reconcile subledger to GL independently.
• Proficiency with Close/ERP systems, field service platforms and AI.
• Strong collections style and communications with customers and GC/AP departments.
• High accuracy, ability to handle daily volume across multiple branches without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing for commercial and residential jobs, including progress billings and retainage.
• Track lien deadlines, escalate at-risk balances before lien rights expire.
• Submit invoices through customer portals and resolve rejections quickly.
• Reconcile job billing to contracts and PO's with project managers.
• Run collections on commercial accounts and establish payment plans.
• Post daily residential invoices and reconcile field payments to bank statements.
• Handle refunds, chargebacks and credits with proper approvals.
• Perform weekly AR aging by segment and branch; own month-end close tasks.
