Job summary

Fayette County Administration seeks a full-time supervisor in the 911 Communications Center. You will supervise staff, oversee radio room operations, and manage scheduling and payroll while ensuring prompt emergency response, dispatch accuracy, and essential recordkeeping.

Strong leadership and public-safety knowledge are required. The role includes training new personnel, coordinating ongoing training, and maintaining equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in Fayette County 911 Communications Center.
• Not on probation and no disciplinary actions within the last 24 months.
• Must obtain Communications Training Officers and Center Supervisor certification within 12 months of appointment.
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma and valid Georgia driver’s license.
• U.S. citizen; able to pass background investigation and pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate, and discipline Communications Officers and Training Officers.
• Oversee radio room operations and complete required reports.
• Manage day-to-day scheduling, on-call coverage, and shift payroll.
• Troubleshoot equipment and arrange maintenance as needed.
• Operate CAD, two-way radio system, and NCIC/GCIC queries to support public safety operations.
• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls; provide life-saving instructions and critical information.
• Dispatch calls to appropriate agencies and maintain CAD status for responder safety.
• Monitor weather alert systems and issue county alerts when needed.
• Perform general office duties and assist with center administrative tasks.
• Lead training for new employees and coordinate with Training Manager.
